Iain Kerr - Cabaret
Cabaret is Iain’s forte and he is always in great demand. His quick repartee, his smooth rapport with all audiences, young and old, his charm and ability to switch from nostalgia to humour, endears him to all his audiences worldwide. His phenomenal memory enables him to play and remember everyone’s favourite song and his ability to instantly perform any request makes everyone in the audience feel as though he is playing specially for them – because he is!
With his then partner, DAPHNE BARKER, he broke records while performing in a sell-out season at Romano's plush restaurant in Sydney. There he was talent-spotted by JACK HYLTON and flown to London to feature at the legendary SOCIETY RESTAURANT in Jermyn Street. There they starred for 18 sold-out months. Throughout the run, Iain always delighted the discerning audiences with spot–on up-to-date topical lyrics – a feature that won praise from press and public – a feature of his cabaret presentations to this day. In the Chateau Bar Lounge of the Mayfair Hotel, many stars dining in the adjoining restaurant, could not resist the temptation of performing with Iain at the piano and many diners were treated to an unexpected informal cabaret by such artists as Marlon Brando, Debbie Reynolds, Dolores Hope, Al Jarreau, Sammy Davis Junior (and his mother, Elvera) and Tom Jones. Iain has a treasure trove of stories of his musical meetings with the great stars of stage, screen and television.
A favourite on luxury cruise liners, partnered by Roy Cowen, Iain has played and sung his way across all the great oceans of the world, travelling from the UK to South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
